Russia is mocking the satellite navigation system of NATO countries: Researchers have determined where the signal is going from
Defensnews writes about it. Researchers have found that the signals emerge from the Kaliningrad region - from the territory near the antenna complex of Okunevo and from the Baltic district, where the units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation from radio electronic wrestling are stationed. It was here that the work of the Murmansk-BN complexes capable of silenced signals by thousands of kilometers was recorded here.
It is noted that for a long time there is a muffling of GPS signal from Gdansk to Helsinki. Because of this, malfunction, cancellation of flights, deviations of routes and even temporary closure of airports are recorded. Experts believe that the culprits of these mysterious deviations are radio waves that come from secret objects under the control of the Russian military.
"Unfortunately, it is very easy to interfere with GNSS signals," said Ralph Zibold, Head of the Maritime Aerospace Center Marine Systems Department, located at the Institute of Communication and Navigation. Mushrooming is achieved by increasing the weak signals coming from the satellites of global positioning, which are at an altitude of 20,000 kilometers above the Earth's surface, radio signals emitted closer to the house.
Plumbing goes even further, replacing the real signals of fakes that give the impression that the receiver is where it is not - and thus can deceive autopilots or captains, forcing them to get out of the course. In March 2025, eight European countries, including the Baltic States, Finland, Poland, France, the Netherlands and Ukraine, filed a complaint with the UN against this practice.
Several UN institutions have also taken this matter, including the International Maritime Organization, ICAO and the International Telecommunications Union. For its part, Russia, which is in the Baltic Sea, officially retains silence on this issue. In response to such hybrid aggression of the Russian Federation, Germany, Poland, Finland and other countries began to deploy an alternative navigation system for R-Mode Baltic, based on coastal radios and independent of satellites.
