The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was shot by Ukrainian prisoners: there was a reaction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ombudsman
"We are stunned by the horrible personnel from CNN, which shows how the Russians are cold -blooded to kill Ukrainian soldiers. This military crime is part of the continuing gross violations of Russia's international humanitarian law. The publication has released a video that recorded two cases of execution of Ukrainian-war Ukrainians. In both cases, you can see the fighters of defense forces, who without weapons come out of shelters, raise their hands, make them behind their heads.
After that, they are forced to kneel or push to the ground, then the Russians shoot people and show bodies. Focus for ethical reasons does not publish a video of execution. It should be noted that this is not the first case of the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russian military. The same CNN material states that the sources of Ukrainian military intelligence have provided a list of 15 cases since November 2023 on the execution of Ukrainian Fighters of the Armed Forces.
When they were captured. For most incidents, there are video and audio confirmation- the interception from the drone. In total, according to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin, the agency is investigating 28 such incidents since the beginning of a full -scale war, which totally killed 62 Ukrainian servicemen.
"The shooting of the Russian prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions! After all, the country that is captured must guarantee the preservation of life of prisoners of war and is responsible for treating them. Each such shooting requires proper investigation, and the international community should not be silent for systemic crimes.
That is why, according to all the facts of the likely killings of Ukrainian prisoners of war, I report and send letters to the ICRC and the UN " - said Dmitry Lubinets, the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights. He added that it is these international organizations that should force Russia to comply with the rules of internationally humanitarian law and record every violation.
