Conscious misinformation: Transnistria will not be "go" to join the Russian Federation - GUR

According to Ukrainian intelligence, the report that the "deputies" of the unrecognized republic are allegedly going to contact Vladimir Putin to join the Russian Federation, distributed to destabilize the situation in the region. The statements that in the "Transnistrian Moldavian Republic" are going to contact the Russian Federation for accession, have all the signs of a conscious misinformation campaign.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR) on February 25. "Information that" PMR "will ask in the Russian Federation is not true," GUR said. The Ukrainian intelligence agency noted that, according to them, the "deputies" of the unrecognized Transnistria at their meetings on February 28 do not intend to appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request for inclusion of "PMR" in the Russian Federation.

"The dissemination of information about such intentions has all the signs of a conscious misinformation campaign in order to destabilize the situation in the region," the intelligence was summed up. We will remind, on February 19 on the website of President "PMR" Vadim Krasnosilsky appeared a statement, which was argued that he was about to initiate the convocation "Congress of deputies of all levels of PMR".

According to him, this decision is associated with concern due to the alleged pressure from Moldova. On February 22, a politician of unrecognized Transnistria said that on Tiraspol, a meeting of "deputies" should take place in Tiraspol, where they would ask for rapprochement with Russia. According to him, the meeting may sound requests allegedly on behalf of the residents of the region for the inclusion of an unrecognized republic in the Russian Federation.

The Moldova Government Reintegration Office on its Facebook page reported that they were watching the situation in Transnistria. According to them, there is no reason to believe that the situation in the region may deteriorate. "They are convinced that Tiraspol is aware of the consequences that he has in the case of unthinkable steps," the message reads.
