Experience of war in Ukraine: In Britain, they overestimate the importance of shock helicopters - analysts

The British military intends to strengthen the air forces through new strategies for the use of AH-64E shock helicopters. But the armies of other countries of the world are looking at their military doctrine and already prefer tactical UAVs. The United Kingdom can get 3000 missiles AGM-179a Joint Air-To-Ground Missils (JAGM) for use on AH-64E shock helicopters, but military analysts doubt the feasibility of such a step.

Given the failure of Russian helicopters KA-52 "Alligator" in hostilities against Ukrainian troops, the doctrine of modern war is increasingly indicating in the direction of drones. The Bulgarian Military Viewers were told about it on October 25. The authors of the material noted that military experts are increasingly doubting the further relevance of the helicopters on the battlefield, although this position requires greater arguments in view of the ongoing fighting in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, some armies of the world are already preferring to emphasize tactical drones. For example, Japan develops a strategy for replacing available AH-64D helicopters, AH-1S Cobra and other Kawasaki OH-1 helicopters with tactical UAVs. France goes in the same direction. The country's defense minister Sebastien Lecorton has declared his intention to review the Eurocopter Tiger MK3 helicopter model to determine how much it meets the technological requirements.

However, obviously, the British are considered different. The military leadership of the United Kingdom believes that one of the main conclusions made during the conflict in Ukraine is the need to develop the units of shock helicopters with threats from air defense, drones and radio -electronic warfare. Therefore, when buying Jagm missiles for their helicopters, the British intend to counteract the available threats and threats.

"The potential obtained from the sale will strengthen the defense of the country and hold back regional threats. It was stated that AGM-179A missiles from Lockheed is the successor of AGM-114 Hellfire and already deployed by the US Marine Corps on AH-1Z helicopters. Moreover, the developers will continue to improve the ammunition and want to increase the range of rocket flight to 16 km.
