Russians in Ukrainian captivity will pay taxes: the government approved the bill

To spread: the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a bill that provides for taxation of income that receives prisoners of war. The relevant decision was made at a government meeting on May 9. This was reported by a government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk.

According to the report, the Government supported the bill "On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine on reflecting in the tax calculation of the amounts of tax on income of individuals and military fees accrued for the remuneration for the work of prisoners of war. " The document stipulates that prisoners of war will have to pay tax on personal income, as well as a military levy.

They will be officially attributed to a separate category of non-resident individuals, in accordance with the provisions of the 1949 Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners of war and an additional protocol to it in 1977. Taxpayers in this case will be camps for maintaining prisoners of war, penalties and detention centers. They will be obliged to submit tax reporting, which should specify the total amount of income accrued and the amount of taxes withheld from these income.

We will remind, at a time when Ukrainians complain of beating and threats during captivity, Russian prisoners of war receive proper nutrition, medical care and even earn. Since the beginning of a full -scale invasion of the maintenance of Russian prisoners of war, almost 300 million hryvnias have come.
