During the fighting for Irpin, many sports facilities were injured at the beginning of the Russian invasion in the city. Before the Great War, training and workshops with Ukrainian tennis players, all-Ukrainian and international competitions in professional and amateur tennis were held at the Center for Tennis Federation of Ukraine.

The Russians destroyed the Irpin Children and Youth Sports School. After the arrivals, the hall for martial arts and wellness gymnastics, as well as study rooms, was burned. The Ice Palace in Severodonetsk was a symbol of the city and one of the largest in Ukraine.
