Ukraine needs another 15 billion, because the war will continue in 2025 - the head of the Ministry of Finance

According to Sergiy Marchenko, Ukraine raises taxes, which gives a signal to partners and critics who consider the contribution of the warring country allegedly insufficient. The war in Ukraine will continue next year. Therefore, the country will need another $ 15 billion to successfully exist during Russian aggression. The Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko told this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

According to him, discussions of financial assistance from international partners are already underway. "Now we are constantly discussing with our partners that we need additional financial assurance, because the war will last until 2025 and we need to have a buffer," Marchenko said. He also noted that Ukraine raises taxes, which gives a signal to partners and critics who consider the contribution of a belligerent country.

"We show that we are ready for the most difficult decisions that we contribute too. We go out to partners and say: here is a shortage of 500 billion hryvnias and here is a solution to how to block it. But we also expect that you are 2025 We will give us sufficient financial assurances that we can finance the budget, ”Marchenko said. At the same time, he does not think that one of the international partners is ready to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"This can be said if we were part of the European Security System and our armed forces would be a key factor in withdrawal of potential threats from Europe.
