Poland has introduced the Grot A3 rifle: Weapons talk about deep modernization (photo)

According to Polish observers, the carbine has undergone constructive changes that should correct the shortcomings of previous versions. In particular, the rifle has become easier and easier to maintain. The Polish Archive Factory "archer" at the last exhibition of MSPO 2024 presented a new version of the carbine Grot A3. This is the first significant modification from the moment of carbine, according to WP Tech.

The development of the new version took into account the opinions of users from Poland and soldiers involved in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Grot A3 is still proposed only for the Polish army, and the final changes in the structure depend on its requirements. The Grot A3 rifle has a shorter 14. 5-inch (368 mm) trunk, which allows to ensure a balance between firing range (300-400 m) and maneuverability of weapons in melee, for example, in buildings.

This barrel is thicker than in the previous version with a 16-inch (408 mm) trunk, which makes it more stable during long firing. The weight of the carbine decreased from 3. 65 kg to 3. 25 kg. One of the significant structural changes is the reduction of the gap between the statement of the barrel and the node of the mechanism, which increases the reliability of the system.

The new version simplifies the weapon service process: the piston and the pusher can now be removed from the gas chamber without having to disassemble the barrel. This innovation facilitates the cleaning of the carbine and eliminates the risk of incorrect after maintenance, which was characteristic of previous models. Now the Grot A3 carbine corresponds to the CZ-806 Bren-2/3 and Fn Scar-L. The design of the gas regulator has also undergone changes.

A3 has added a latch that prevents random switching. In previous versions, this could lead to problems with the regulation of the gas pipeline. Other changes include a new, thinner example, which has become more stable due to the rigid connection with the Picatini strap section. This makes it possible to secure the accessories, such as laser sights, at the end of the guide. In addition, the manufacturer decided to abandon the regulated resistance of the wings of the selector of fire.

In previous versions, such elements could be weakened spontaneously, which led to accidental switching to continuous fire mode, bypassing single shots. The observers say that the main competitors of Grot A3 in the Polish army are the Czech CZ-806 Bren-3 and the MWS-15 carbine from Tarnów. The CZ-806 with a 14-inch (357 mm) barrel weighs 3. 1 kg, but its updated Bren-3 version with a 14. 5-inch barrel weighs 3. 3 kg, which is close to Grot A3.

The MWS-15 with a similar trunk has a more significant weight-3. 8 kg, but is highly accuracy due to the monolithic plumbing and the four-trailing gas regulator. The Polish army actively studies the A3 version, and further changes in the design will depend on its recommendations. Among the improvements are ergonomics, which makes the carbine convenient for shulga and right -hand, as well as reducing the return and effort during the throwing of a sleeve.
