President Elections in the Russian Federation: Putin refused to participate in election debates - Peskov
This is not the first time Putin avoids participating in the debate. In 2017, before the preliminary elections, the press secretary explained that Putin's candidate "was proceeding under other laws. " He also noted that the debate is "rather meaningless in nature," and the imprint of the current presidency significantly changes the situation.
On January 29, Roszma reported that the Central Election Committee of the Russian Federation registered the current President of the Russian Federation as a candidate for the presidential election in March 2024. The corresponding CEC certificate presented one of Putin's proxies - Russian actor Vladimir Mashkov.
We will remind, the Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Alexei Danilov stated that in the Russian Federation there is a possible total mobilization after the election of the President of 2024. In his opinion, the presidential elections in the Russian Federation will become a "landmark date" for the Kremlin on March 17, 2024, after which total mobilization of citizens is possible. It should also be reminded that the State Duma amended the Presidential Election Act.
