The Russian Federation creates a decentralized network of autonomous drones "Diktiothion": what is known about it (photo)
Ця система призначена для автономного контролю фронту протяжністю до кількох сотень кілометрів, пише російське пропагандистське видання "Известия". The basis of the system consists of autonomous charging and starting stations, the so -called "nests", which can be placed in advance and masked on the line of contact.
These points provide recharging and start of drones of different types-from FPV apparatus and reconnaissance drones to drones-sappers, anti-aircraft UAVs and drones-bombers. According to official statements, the work scheme stipulates that intelligence drones identify goals and transmit information to the command post. From there, operators give orders to defeat the goals that perform shock drones - autonomously, but within the framework of centralized management logic.
Defense Express analysts note that despite the high autonomy statements, the system retains the vulnerability associated with the need for a commanding point. Its lesions can paralyze the work of the entire Dictione network in the area of responsibility. In addition, the nests themselves can be prone to identification and destruction, which casts doubt on the idea of fully autonomous functioning in the conditions of active fighting.
"We will get simple and cheap as a Kalashnikov machine, a drone value of 40-50 thousand rubles. A group of fighters can scatter nests and get off the line of combat collision within hours, then the system will make all the work for them," the developers say. However, despite the ambitious statements, the attempts of the Russians to realize a large -scale autonomous system of combat drones are still restricted to technological and tactical restrictions.
