Russia can start an offensive on the left -bank part of the Zaporozhye region - the General Staff of the Armed Forces
This was stated at a briefing on January 12 by the Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Management of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Brigadny General Alexei Gromov. "It is projected that in the near future the enemy will try to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk region, and can further activate his actions from the capture of the left -bank part of the Zaporozhye region," Gromov said.
The representative of the General Staff also noted that the enemy did not give up his main goal - to seize the whole territory of Ukraine and destroy Ukrainian statehood. At the same time, having suffered a number of serious defeats last year, the Russians decided to wage war on exhaustion.
"In general, Putin's regime seeks to win time, counting on the depletion of the Ukrainian economy and forces of defense [Ukraine], as well as reducing Ukraine's support to countries that are indifferent to the Kremlin's bloody ambitions," the brigade general commented. Moscow intends to continue to be critical, including energy infrastructure throughout Ukraine, according to the General Staff.
"The intensity of rocket and aviation strikes will depend on the possibility of the Russian military-industrial complex to provide national armed forces by means of high-precision defeat of a long and medium range," Gromov says. According to him, this, among other things, will also be influenced by the export of ammunition of Iranian production to Russia.
