Pension in Ukraine: Ukrainians who worked in the Russian Federation can be left without payments

The Ministry of Social Policy stated that such Ukrainians should have confirmation from Russia's Pension Fund that the aggressor country does not pay their pensions. This is required by the current legislation. Ukrainians who worked on the territory of the Russian Federation, and also had insurance experience there may have problems with obtaining social payments. This was reported by the First Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Darya Marchak on the air of a telecommunication.

According to her, those Ukrainians who have lived in the Russian Federation or in the occupied regions and then moved to the territories controlled by Ukraine should have confirmation from the Russian Pension Fund that the aggressor country does not pay their pensions. This is required by the current legislation. However, it is reported that during a full -scale war with Russia, Ukraine cannot receive this data from the Russian Federation. Therefore, such citizens cannot receive pensions.

According to Marchak, this problem concerns only a few hundred pensioners. However, there may be much more potentially. Moreover, Russia has denied a pension agreement with Ukraine. It was also reported that Ukrainian pensioners are entitled to various pension allowances. Some of these surcharges are automatically accrued, and citizens should contact the Pension Fund of Ukraine according to certain payments.
