According to Zubkov, the occupation administration of the Kherson region asked him from the zoo.

The speaker of the Odessa Military Administration Serhiy Bratchuk reported that the Ukrainian side is ready to exchange ten Russian mobilized soldiers who were captured. "I cannot understand why Russian invaders stole Ukrainian raccoon . . . Back our Ukrainian raccoon, we will turn you ten chmobiki back," Bratchuk said.

Meanwhile, the Uanimals movement specified that the invaders stole not only the raccoon, but also other animals from the Kherson zoo: "They took out most of the zoo collection to the Crimea: from Lama and Wolf to Osla and Protein.
