Engineers will create modular drones: why is it profitable and how they will help the military

Greenjets and Firestorm Labs have decided to create new generation drones, spare parts for which you can "print" anywhere. According to modular drones, the future engineers are confident in Greenjets and Firestorm Labs, who have decided to create a line of completely modular UAVs, VOXELMATTERS reports. Firestorm Labs specializes in the creation of case and useful loads for drones, and Greenjets specialists are known for their development of UAV motors.

The main purpose of this engineering duo is to completely change the production of drones for the military. The main aspect in this case is the modularity of the elements of the apparatus. Today, the replacement of one part or another is too difficult and takes a long time, which is unacceptable in the conditions of modern wars, where drones play the role of the main weapon along with rockets.

In addition to modularity, experts have already patented their 3D printing system, which will allow you to print spare parts with special printers. This will create the necessary spare parts on the front line, representatives of two companies say. And most modules in models of their drones will be interchangeable, which is very convenient if the troops have several types of such drones.

Then the interchangeability of the components allows the UAV operators to modify their device to perform a wide range of missions from one platform. "The need for rapid production of inexpensive systems is increasing every week. Traditional approaches to production cannot be scale to meet the growing demand for UAV, and, as we see in Ukraine, the conflict will now win the one who can build more drones all.
