German politicians are "tired of war" and think about peace talks with the Russian Federation - the media

None of the events of the last decade has become such a test for Berlin and all of Europe as a full -scale invasion of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In Germany, "fatigue from war" puts pressure on politicians, forcing them to think about peace talks. This is stated in the final material of the DW ("German wave").

The publication states that part of the political spectrum of Germany accuses the West of Ukraine's insufficient support: "The counter -offensive of the Armed Forces, the purpose of which was the release of occupied Russian territories, hindered the event itself - that it supplied very little weapons and did it too late," - said in the material.

According to DW journalists, none of the events of the last decade has become such a test for Berlin and all of Europe as a full -scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine in February 2022. Germany, like other Western countries, provides multilateral support to Kiev. "Despite this, for almost two years of war, Ukraine failed to return the territory occupied by Russia. Readiness to continue to provide Ukraine with military assistance is reduced not only among European countries but also in the US.

The help of Kiev can be significantly reduced, "the media reminds. According to a professor at the University of Halla Johannes Varvik, who deals with international relations and European policy, fatigue in the west of war in Ukraine puts pressure on politicians, forcing them to think about peace talks. He even considers it inevitable. "I think that a truce and then difficult diplomatic talks about territorial changes of Ukraine, its neutrality - all this should be discussed," the expert says.

At the same time, a deputy from the opposition Christian-Democratic Union of the CDU, the expert in the field of security policy, Roderich Kizetter calls all conversations about the truce too dangerous, and considers the military victory of Ukraine possible. "The counter -offensive of the Armed Forces, the purpose of which was the release of the occupied territories that hindered the event itself - that it supplied too little weapons and did it too late," he says.
