The Indian oil giant is looking for an alternative to Russian oil "on the sidelines," — Bloomberg

Share: India's Reliance Industries Ltd, the largest buyer of Russian oil, has recently stepped up purchases of oil from other suppliers. The company purchased at least 2. 5 million barrels of "black gold" from Iraq and Qatar. In particular, it concerns the Basrah Medium variety from Iraq and the Al-Shaheen and Qatar Land brands from Qatar. This is reported by Bloomberg.

Reliance regularly buys oil in the Middle East, but the recent increase in purchases appeared to be significantly higher than usual, sources said. In addition, the company is actively interested in potential counterparties for oil close in quality to Russian oil. As Bloomberg emphasizes, the increase in purchases of non-Russian oil is taking place against the background of pressure on India to limit purchases of raw materials from Russia.

It was previously reported that Ukraine's ally has emerged as the world's largest importer of Russian oil, a petroleum product used in the production of chemicals, also known as naphtha. We will also remind that Rostec documents about the supply of Russian Su-35 and Su-57 to Iran and African countries were leaked online.
