Zelensky does not want to see in politics after the war 45% of citizens - a survey

To spread: According to the survey of the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), almost half of the citizens do not see in politics after the war of Vladimir Zelensky nor Petro Poroshenko. The survey was conducted by telephone interviews of respondents in the regions under the control of the Government of Ukraine.

According to the results of the KIIS survey, conducted from September 19 to October 5, 2025, 45% of Ukrainians do not see in politics after the end of the war, neither the current President Vladimir Zelensky nor his predecessor Petro Poroshenko. The KIIS research included additional questions about the level of trust in the President of Zelensky, as well as the vision of Ukrainians of the future activities of Vladimir Zelensky and Petro Poroshenko after the end of the war.

Despite wartime, KIIS notes that the results obtained remain representative and reflect real social sentiment. According to the study, the level of trust in Vladimir Zelensky remains relatively stable. He is now trusted by 60% of Ukrainians, do not trust - 35%. The balance of trust is +25%. Over the summer, the level of support decreased from 74% in May to 58% in August, but in September-October the situation stabilized.

The current confidence rate exceeds the level of December 2024, when the lowest level of support was recorded since the beginning of a full -scale invasion. 41% of respondents believe that Vladimir Zelensky should stay in politics, of which 25% are presidential. At the same time, 36% of those polled would like to leave politics after the war, and 14% - that criminal investigations would be initiated. As for Petro Poroshenko, the results are even more critical.

Only 23% of respondents believe that he should stay in politics, and 9% see him in the highest state positions. Instead, 46% would like it to complete political activity and 23% support the idea of ​​his criminal prosecution. According to the KIIS survey, 45% of citizens do not see in politics after the war of Zelensky nor Poroshenko. Another 46% chose the "polarized" option: 32% want to see only Zelensky, but not Poroshenko in politics, and 14% - vice versa.

Only 9% of respondents believe that both politicians should remain in political life after the war is over. At the same time, 32% of respondents spoke for criminal prosecution of one or both figures. The CIME CIBI Executive Director Anton Hrushetsky noted that the results indicate the confidence in the President of Zelensky during the war, but the request for updating political elites after its completion.

"Citizens seek to see in the power of new people who have shown themselves during the war - military, volunteers, managers. And that does not mean the desire to return the old opposition," Hrushetsky said. He also emphasized that most Ukrainians do not seek punishment for former and current leaders: "68% do not want to criminal prosecution either Vladimir Zelensky nor Petro Poroshenko. People expect a civilized change in political generation, not revenge.

" The survey was carried out by telephone interviews based on a random sample of mobile numbers in all regions under the control of the Government of Ukraine. 1008 respondents aged 18 years of age were interviewed. The formal statistical error does not exceed 4. 1% for indicators close to 50%, 3. 5% - for 25%, 2. 5% - for 10% and 1. 8% - for 5%. According to KIIS, Ukrainian society demonstrates mature attitude to the authorities and political changes.

Although Zelensky retains legitimacy in the war, most Ukrainians expect new leaders who embody the country's renewal and development after the war. As the focus recently reported, the activities of the "servant of the people" party are mostly evaluated negatively. According to the KIIS survey results, 52% of respondents believe that it impedes the development of the state, but only a quarter of respondents have the opposite opinion.
