Currently, Ukraine can carry out a virtual reverse with all GTS operators of related countries in Europe. The key condition for this is the availability of a resource in the system. Ukrainian gas transportation companies began to import blue fuel from Europe through Moldova, the GTS Operator of Ukraine (OGTSU) reports. Imported gas is pumped to underground gas storage facilities. It is also emphasized that: reverse (or backhaul).

"This step unlocked gas imports into Ukraine from the southern direction through the Transbalance Route," the operator added. At the same time, the Russian Federation sent about 17 million tons of liquefied natural gas (PPG) in Europe in 2022. This figure is approximately 20% higher than 2021. Also we will remind that at the end of January 2023 gas prices in Europe fell by almost 20%.
