Shakhda is in danger: will the attacks in Ukraine weaken after a strike at the Atlant-Aero factory

To extend: Atlant-Aero plant in Taganrog, which is provided by the front of FPV-Drones and the systems of the HR-was at risk. Experts surveyed consider the impact symbolic and strategic: the Russian Federation loses important production units that are increasingly difficult to replace under sanctions. Does this mean that the drones in Russia will be less - the focus was understood.

On the night of June 25, 2025, unmanned devices were seen above the city of Taganrog (Rostov region, Russian Federation). The locals reported a series of explosions that were accompanied by active shots from air defense systems. The main object of the attack was the Atlant -Aero plant - an enterprise known for the production of components for combat drones, control systems, as well as the complexes of the IP.

The enterprise is working on Orion drones and FPV -leisurefields that are actively used by Russia during the war. Atlant-Aero is one of the key facilities of the Russian military-industrial complex (MIC). The enterprise specializes in the production of components for combat unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), control systems, as well as equipment for radio electronic wrestling (EIT).

In particular, the plant is involved in the creation of drones of the type "Orion", the complexes of the HRs and digital integration systems for shock FPV-pings and barrading ammunition. This makes Atlant-Aero an important element in the chain of providing the Russian army with modern technologies for war.

According to the Executive Director of the Ukrainian Center for Security and Cooperation, military expert Dmitry Zhmayl, it is now known about the fire on the territory of the enterprise as a result of a impact. However, the detailed consequences of the impact are currently unknown.

The military-political observer and expert of the Information Resistance group Alexander Kovalenko drew attention to the fact that any military industrial enterprise of the Russian Federation, regardless of its specialization, has its vulnerable places. These weaknesses can be different: from a separate production line or shop to specific equipment that plays a critical role in the technological process.

This is especially true of Russia, which, through sanctions, faces the difficulties in ensuring its industry with the necessary components. Many types of equipment used in Russian factories or have been purchased before sanctions or coming through complex smuggling schemes. It is impossible to replace such machines or mechanisms as Russia does not have its own capacity for their production.

"Russia does not produce this equipment, it has received it either before the sanction period or after smuggling, but now this path is quite complicated by Western sanctions. Replacing such components requires considerable effort and time, which makes such objects vulnerable to attacks," says Focus expert. Kovalenko explained that hitting such a weak link - for example, in a key shop or a unique production line - can completely paralyze the work of the enterprise.

As an example, he cited "Uralvagonzavod", one of the largest Russian plants specializing in tanks production. If you get into the shop where new tanks are made and destroy it, the plant will lose the ability to produce new equipment. In this case, the company will only be able to repair or modernize the existing equipment, which will significantly limit its contribution to Russia's military needs. The expert stressed that to maximize the effect of shocks in industrial sites requires high accuracy.

"The main thing is to get there. You can send 10-20-30 drones, or 10-20-30 ballistic missiles, but if they do not hit the target, production will be restored after a while. For example, recently the US army was hit by underground nuclear objects of Iran. After 3-4 months, and perhaps even after six months, Iran will return to the level of production at which he was before the operation of the tanal on June 13, "Kovalenko said. Such drones production enterprises exist in other corners of Russia.

In particular, experts call the Shakhaned Factory in Elabuz in Tatarstan, as well as the Izhevsk plants of "dome" and "axion" in the city of the same name. Shahaneda's production in Ela Labuz is based on Iranian technologies, and components, including engines and electronics, are largely transmitted from China. In 2023, the plant produced 2738 "Shahanedov", and in the first nine months of 2024 - 5760 units, which indicates a significant increase in capacity.

In addition, the plant produces reconnaissance drones such as "Albatros" and the so -called "false" Gerber drones, designed to distract air defense systems. The plant has at least four times the purpose of Ukrainian drones. "Currently, it is not possible to violate the capabilities of the Russian Federation in the production of shock drones. In addition to drone production factories, the expert tells the importance of strikes in the places of mass launch of these drones.

"In addition to the defeat of the industries of the Defense of Ukraine, they are affected by the storage or use of shock drones to reduce the impact capacity of the Russian Federation. In particular, in June 2024, the SUU struck the place of storage of" Shahmed "in Yeysk, as a result, as reported by the Navy of Ukraine.

According to Zhmayl, the forces of Ukraine's defense forces are striking on the objects of the Russian Security Service of Ukraine mainly drones and Dron missiles, and in the future the ballistic missiles of Ukraine will play a greater role in the future. We will remind, in June 2025 the Ukrainian military received the first light aircraft of Shark with a built -in radio electronic wrestling system.
