Not distinguished from a bird: presented a drone Xinge, which will be useful to both scientists and military (photo)

This orntopter will help explore the population of birds in nature or to monitor the movement of enemies at the front. Chinese researchers from the Northwestern Polytechnic University have developed a drone with wings that waved and which was in flight for more than three hours, which became a record. About it reports Eurasian Times.

Similar drones are also known as "bionic drones" or ornintopeters based on mechanics that repeats the complex mechanism of flight of real birds, becoming part of a global technological project of different other developers. The drone, which was called Xinge, has broken the record of the flight of their predecessor for almost one and a half hours, which scientists called "technological jump".

Xinge can fly up to three hours, five minutes and 30 seconds continuously on one charge, beating the previous Guinness World Record set by the same command (the previous result is 2 hours 34 minutes 38 seconds). The Xinge orntopter has a wingspan of 70 centimeters and weighs 260 grams. Compared to its predecessor, the Yunxiao ornnopter, this drone is smaller in size. It can be easily started from your hands.

Experts say that such ornintopeters are important for ornithologists or any other specialists who study nature and environmental processes, because such a drone does not cause frightening in birds. Some large models can even drive away flocks of birds from airfields. But, of course, the military is interested in ornitotopters. High in the sky, such a drone cannot be distinguished from the bird, it can be used to explore the enemy's positions at the front.

It is lightweight, small in size and low -noise, as well as due to composite materials is not meaningless for radio electronic fighting. The publication claims that the military has not been interested in this drone, but only it will turn into a working model completely from the working prototype, the Chinese army may show interest in it.

The fact is that the Northwestern Polytechnic University is closely linked to the People's Liberation Army of China (NVAK) and defensive state-owned enterprises of China. It is part of the "seven sons of national defense" - a group of universities and higher technical institutions, supported under a ten -year program aimed at making China independently in defense production.
