Fire and destruction were recorded in the city as a result of the shelling. The Russians hit a civilian infrastructure object in the city. Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration, spoke about the consequences in his Telegram channel.

An air alert was announced in the Zaporizhzhia region due to the threat of enemy drones around midnight. According to the OVA, a total of about three strike-type drones were recorded over the region. Around 00:20, explosions rang out in the Zaporizhzhia region, noted Ivan Fedorov. Later, around 00:45, explosions rang out in Zaporizhia, Suspilny correspondents reported. Soon the OVA reported on the first consequences of the enemy shelling.

Ivan Fedorov informed that as a result of the attack, a fire broke out in an administrative building within the city limits, operative services went to the place. The head of the OVA also showed a fire at the place of impact. Later, Ivan Fedorov specified that the Russians had targeted the city's educational institution with a Shahed-type attack UAV. Because of this, the three-story building of the institution caught fire. Operational services quickly extinguished the fire as of 01:40 a. m.

, Fedorov noted. There was no information about the victims or the injured as a result of the shelling. Also, on the night of October 18, explosions rang out in Poltava and the region, "Suspilne" reported. Russian drones were spotted in the region, but there was no official information about hits or destruction as a result of the fire at the time of publication.
