The Russians launched a new offensive in Sumy and Kharkiv region - Syrsky head

To spread: the Russian army has already started offensive in Sumy and Kharkiv regions, which was recently warned by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Such information was voiced by the Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Sirsky in an interview for LB. ua. "I can say that the president is absolutely right and this offensive has actually started," Syrsky said.

The head noted that over the last week there is a significant increase in the number of offensive operations of Russian troops on all key areas of the front - almost twice. Monthly, Russian forces increase by 8-9 thousand people, which results in 120-130 thousand per year. According to January 1, 2025, the number of Russian troops was 603 thousand, and at the beginning of April it had already reached 623 thousand.

Syrsky also commented on the joint exercises of Russia and Belarus, which are planned for the fall and the possibility of a new offensive from the north. According to him, these exercises can be used for the hidden formation of the grouping of offensive troops. He recalled that in 2022 it began a full -scale invasion: a group of troops that conducted training was created, and everyone hoped that they would return to their territory afterwards.

"This should be taken into account as the offensive of 2022 can be repeated in the fall," the Armed Forces commander added. Recall that Russian President Vladimir Putin tries to win time and prepares for a new wave of the offensive, in particular in Sumy and Kharkiv region. On March 26, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in an interview with Le Figaro.
