Blow on the energy of the aggressor: what is threatening Russia's ban on the sale of generators

The EU has approved the 13th Package of Sanction against Russia, which provides for restrictions on trade in goods and technologies with the aggressor country, the list of which contains more than 70 names. The focus asked the expert on the effect and timing of the introduction of restrictions related to the energy sphere.

In addition to the fact that the 13th anti-Russian package includes sanctions against 106 individuals and 88 legal entities, the document refers, in particular, restrictions on semiconductor devices of different types, electronic integral schemes, production and testing equipment, including machines and apparatus Schemes, remotes, panels, consoles, equipment with numerical software control. This is stated in the EU Council's Prescribe.

A separate section provides a ban on the sale of cameras, sensors and optical components. There are also telescopic sights, periscopes, telescopes, thermometers and pyrometers, thermostats. According to Gennady Ryabtsev, Deputy Director of the Scientific and Technical Center "Psyche", restrictive measures apply to a number of electromagnetic equipment. These include DC motors and DC generators, transformers, several varieties of capacitors, resistors, relays, etc.

He explained that in this way the energy industry of the Russian Federation through sanctions, in particular, the 13th package was put into a mode that does not provide any capacity update and work on the accumulated reserves. "This does not mean that the production of energy goods and services will stop, but it means that this production will stop growing.

If electricity consumption increases, then the energy company will not be able to satisfy this increase and will have to raise prices and tariffs for that, To maintain the current level of production, "Ryabtsev added. It should be noted that the sanction list contains machines for the processing of any materials, construction tools and machines, related products. In fact, it is about some materials that the aggressor could use for war in Ukraine.

Sanctions are also extended to electronic devices and modules. In particular, the blocks for computers, machines for receiving, transforming and transmitting or regenerating voice, images or other data, other equipment for transmission or receiving voice, images or other data, including communication devices in wire or wireless networks, cellular telephones, or other wireless networks, radioavigation equipment, devices and devices for aviation or space navigation.

All this should reduce the Kremlin's ability to quickly produce weapons for war in Ukraine. The annex to the EU sanction regulation includes chemicals, metals, alloys, composites and other modern materials. Restrictive measures apply to parts and units of machines. Yes, the list shows several types of bearings. However, should Ukraine and the world expect to have a rapid effect of new sanctions? "When sanctions are adopted, their effect is expected no earlier than a few months or even years.

Therefore, to say about some effect from certain sanctions immediately after their introduction is incorrect. In addition, when the sanctions are introduced, they are introduced comprehensively, they are introduced. And the complex effect is expected. We see that the 13th package of sanctions, and the impression that they do not work in any way, but if you look at the complex effect, you can see some features concerning the energy complex, "-says-says Gennady Ryabtsev in a focus comment.

According to him, if you look at complex sanctions, you can see what is happening, and this happens - the duration of inter -repair gaps at energy objects increases, the number of new equipment installed, is carried out indefinitely for modernization and production renewal and stopped. The development of new deposits, when it comes to energy, no new objects are being built.

We will add that the Regulation came into force the next day after its publication in the "official journal" of the European Union, that is, February 24, 2024. We will remind, the focus gave the words of the deputy chief of Ukrainian intelligence Vadim Skibitsky that because of sanctions the enemy began to replace Western details for manning domestic. Accordingly, rocket weapons no longer correspond to the stated characteristics.
