Unique things by the hands of the fighters: How 3D printing is rescued by the Armed Forces (Photo)

To spread: in the units of the 155th Anna OMB, development is actively implemented, which in 2022-2023 emerged as civilian initiatives of army assistance. Using ordinary computers, 3D printers and basic engineering knowledge, fighters create unique elements of weapons and auxiliary equipment for unmanned systems. The main purpose of the developer group inside the part is to quickly adapt the existing solutions to specific combat missions.

The army of the serviceman of the brigade Dmitry told this in an interview. It is about modification of fasteners and knots for drones, and the creation of new types of ammunition. "For example, there was a reset with a maximum volume of 1 liter or 1. 2 liters. And we want to be 2. 5 liters. Well, we took and processed. In order to lose a little more. To increase the efficiency of work," Dmitry says.

Even in the unit are designed shanks for mines, discharges for non -standard ammunition, elements of remote mining and even schemes with delayed detonation. According to Dmitry, if the desired device cannot be removed or too expensive - it is simply created from scratch. For example, a timer fee costs 1100 hryvnias, and the fighters make it for 50. They buy the right details, collect, test - and everything works.

The work is enough, added Dmitry, - the units are constantly sending requests to create something new. It is often about developing a specific type of drones or shells. At the same time, before release in combat use, all products are required to test safety. "We need to carefully check and test everything. To make everything convenient, understandable and safe. During all this time we have no problems with it," Dmitry stressed.
