Partners of Ukraine avoid discussing the victory over the Russian Federation: in what direction to go - Foreign Affairs

The countries of the West should admit that their plan is to force the Russian Federation to sit down at the table of peace talks, analysts wrote. In their opinion, it is necessary to create a plan of victory and give Ukraine all the means to achieve it. Western partners give Ukraine weapons to achieve certain short -term goals on the battlefield, for example, for the offensive in the summer of 2023.

At the same time, they avoid statements about the "victory over the Russian Federation", instead of talking about support until it is needed. " At the same time, it is unknown about a clear plan for victory over the aggressor country: it is not even discussed. The portal published an analysis of the situation in the Russo-Ukrainian war, made by two authors-the experts of defense of Ukraine Andriy Zagorodniuk (2019-20) and analyst Eliot E. Cohen from the Center for Strategic and International Studies. In their opinion, Ukraine and partners should finally create a plan for victory over the Russian Federation, since there is still no plan. According to the authors, creating a victory plan, you need to think in the following areas.

"The event should clearly state that its purpose is the decisive victory of Ukraine and the defeat of Russia, and it must undertake to provide Kiev direct military assistance and support the defense industry of the developing country," analytics wrote. In addition, partner countries need to understand that their preliminary plan to end the war did not succeed.

Today, in the Russian Federation, combat operations in Ukraine are gradually transformed into an "existential confrontation", which should be completed by the complete destruction of the enemy, explained in the artign Affairs article.
