Russians are already learning: Iran will put hundreds of ballistic missiles for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - Reuters
According to journalists, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense on December 13 in Tehran signed a contract with Iranian officials for the supply of FATH-360 and another ballistic missile system Ababil, created by the Iranian government organization of the Aerospace Industry (AIO). The sources also stated that Russian experts visited Iran to study how to manage the FATH-360 defense system, which launches missiles with a maximum range of 120 km and a warhead weighing 150 kg.
It is reported that Moscow has its own ballistic missiles, but the supplies of FATH-360 can allow the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to use most of their arsenal to defeat targets on the front line, while using Iranian warheads to damage goals at a closer distance. The unnamed representative of the US National Security Council said that the United States, their NATO allies and G7 partners are ready to give a "quick and rigid answer" to Iran for such deliveries.
"This will mean a sharp strengthening of Iran's support for Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine," the representative said. The permanent representation of Iran under the United Nations in New York stated in its own that Tehran has established a long-term strategic partnership with Moscow in various fields, including military cooperation.
"However, from an ethical point of view, Iran is refrained from the transfer of any weapon, including missiles, which can be used in conflict with Ukraine, before its completion," the statement said. At the same time, the White House was reported to formally confirm that Iran was teaching Russian military work with FATH-360 or that he was preparing to supply this weapon to Russia. As the source in intelligence was told to journalists, the missiles will be transferred soon.
