The ex-official proposed to annex the eastern regions of Ukraine to the Rostov region of the Russian Federation-the SBU

According to the investigation, the person involved in the Ministry of Fuel and Energy, the State Reserve and the Ministry of Coal Industry, but since 2014 he dismissed the Civil Service and positioned himself as a political expert. In Kiev, the counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a former Ukrainian official who cooperated with Russian special services. On Wednesday, January 3, the SBU press center reported.

The person who has previously worked in the Ministry of Fuel and Energy, the State Research Committee and the Ministry of Coal Industry, after his dismissal from the civil service in 2014, began to position himself as a "polytexpert". He published articles that praised the Kremlin's policy on Ukraine. In fact, the former official was an agent of Russian intelligence.

He maintained a connection with one of the executives of the 5th FSB service, who coordinated his activities, claims the investigation. The agent also cooperated with the leader of the pro -Russian LNR fighters Leonid Pasichnyk. He gave him advice on strengthening repression against Ukrainian patriots in the occupied territories. In addition, the person wrote on social networks posts, in which he proposed to annex the eastern regions of Ukraine to Russia.

The SBU counterintelligence recorded the facts of the Russian agent's criminal activity and detained it in their own home. Complex forensic psychological and linguistic expertise confirmed that the documentary materials prepared by the Custom FSBs against the safety of Ukraine. During the searches, computer equipment, mobile phones and documents confirming its subversive activity in favor of Russia were seized at the house and car of the detainee.

The person also revealed the "distinction for interaction" from representatives of the aggressor state, as well as forbidden communist and pro-Kremlin symbolism. Based on the evidence received, investigators of the SBU reported the detainee of the suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code: he was chosen a pre -trial detention measure. The attacker faces up to 15 years in prison.
