About how energy lives, whether people are afraid of a possible catastrophe and how the occupiers are in the city, NV spoke with the mayor Dmitry Orlov, who now works in Zaporozhye. - Now one of the most acute topics is the situation at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. Even the statement of foreign ministers G7 has been issued, which demand to regain control of Ukraine.
What do you think the intentions of the Russians about her? They specifically intimidate everyone with a possible disaster to put pressure on Ukraine? Are you really ready to go for it? - They take illogical steps one by one. I only see what they destroy everything. Somewhere in the middle of last month, from the territory of the nuclear power plant and adjacent territories, they began to fire Nikopol, Manganese and other cities. There are killed and injured among civilians.
Why do it? Or what they did at the end of last week - fired at the city of Energodar and fired at the nuclear power plant. There are victims, there is a destruction of civilian infrastructure, engineering structures. This has led to the fact that [in Energodar] for a month or even no more gas. These are also the actions of the invaders. Why do it? Now they declare that they have replaced all nuclear objects and will not give in the process of de -occupation so that these objects remain intact.
They operate such phrases that it will either be Russia or here will be a "burned earth". These are statements that do not get on the head. And it is time to the international organizations and the international community, which has at least some impact, to turn on and take some steps, except for expressing anxiety as they always do. What we see in fact that from the territory of the city of Energodar began to leave massively, and experts of the nuclear power plant also leave.
Over time, there may be a personnel problem, it is already on the verge. - I wanted to ask about it. After all, our employees, Ukrainian employees work at the NPP? - So. Our experts work, who have relevant licenses for certain activities and these are specialists who are no longer in the country. If the operator licensed to operate the nuclear installation on the 1st unit, then on the 2nd it is not entitled to work. He has no license for the 2nd.
It is impossible to bring from other stations or other countries experts and say that they will now be done on this block - it is simply impossible, not to mention that there is another equipment there. - The Russians will not be replaced by our staff? - They have no such opportunity. Until February 24, 11,000 workers worked at the ZPP. This is a considerable number. Where to find similar workers? For understanding: to prepare one head of the block change, one has to learn 16 years.
That is, not to work, but only to learn. The nuclear power plant is not an object that can be paused in order to recover when there is a sufficient personnel component. The frames should be here and now. Now it is possible to organize a variable work because there was a certain stock of personnel potential. But we can face a problem that will not be able to rotate staff. Because people will go to the territories under the control of the Armed Forces and work will work.
- In what conditions people now work? After all, on the territory of the station are both Russian military and their equipment. They confirm it themselves. - Yes, the technique is. There are military with weapons and ammunition, there is also heavy equipment that they hide either near the blocks or even imported it in the machine halls of power units. Specialists work under frantic psychological pressure.
There are even cases where the management administrative warehouse and ordinary employees are removed from the passage or out of the offices, and they are taken to the basements, someone is returned, but not everyone, unfortunately. There are even those that 3rd month sit in cellars and neither their health nor location are unknown. There are times when they have been beaten that a person has not survived.
I mean the diver of the hydroelectric cord, which they delivered to the hospital in a coma - he died in a few days. - The situation around the Zaporizhzhya NPP scares people in both Kiev and Europe. And what about energy? How do people perceive this situation? - Speaking of what they do, they have only one thing - to leave the city safely. Today I was at the Logistics Center in the city of Zaporozhye, there were metars.
They say that after the shells flew right near their house, they grabbed everything they needed and left. For three days they went and arrived here - to Zaporozhye, to the territory under the control of the Armed Forces. About half of the population remained in the city. If there were 53 thousand in the pre -occupation period, now half left. - What are the biggest problems in the city? No gas? - Unfortunately, there is no gas not only in energy, but in many cities.
Because the occupiers do not allow repair crews to the main gas pipeline in order to restore gas supply. The Zaporizhzhya Heating Station does not work, it provided hot water and provided a third of the city with warmth. We are now working on the delivery of convectors and boilers to provide such assistance in the event that the heating season will not undergo the parameters. On utility companies: we manage to provide them with consumables.
The work is also done on the fuel, to ensure the work of public utilities. Several times a month we manage to deliver them from the controlled territory. - Your first deputy Ivan Samodyuk has been in captivity for over 4 months. Is there any information about him? Where is he and what is with him? - From March 19, there is no information about the first deputy Samidyuk Ivan Gnatovich. Where he and his health are also unknown.
From indirect sources (and this is information about a month ago) it is alive and is not in energy, in the temporarily occupied territory in another place, but still the invaders keep it. Let's hope that he is alive and healthy. - The occupiers recently stated that preparation for the referendum on the annexation of the Zaporizhzhya region to Russia began. Is training in Energodar? And what is it manifested? - For about three months they collected personal data.
Because all personal data and all bases, according to the orders of the relevant structures of the highest level, were destroyed or transported to a safer place to the controlled territory. They faced the problem that even if you hold a referendum, you have to have some base - and it is clear that no one will come there. That is, they needed some personal database.
They laid three months, and probably four, giving out unprotected people - pensioners and the elderly - 10 thousand rubles in exchange for personal data. As for the preparatory actions, I do not know what actions are underway, except that they published on social networks that somewhere in Melitopol there was a general collection of all collaborators who made the decision to carry out these measures. But they did not declare the date. To hold a referendum is a great job.
It is a job that should be done by specialists in your business. And in them the staff of collaborators who agreed to cooperate with them is quite weak. They cannot organize the work of some kindergarten or school there, not something to hold a referendum. - And how does the repressive machine in energy? You said that people were being taken away.
Does the occupiers have some prison? -They use for this purpose police department, the SBU premises, there are several cellars and on the industrial site, in the sanitary protection zone there is a premises where they collect people who, in their opinion, have a pro-Ukrainian position. They are tortured there, they are knocked out of them about the "love of Russian peace", which are then shown on Russian television. But we saw these people before occupation and before they visited these tortures.
They were twice lost, all beaten - it is clear why and how these confessions are knocked out in humans. It's not military, these are ordinary civilians. - To recommend the residents of the occupied energy now, in this situation? Leave under any conditions? - I would not want to call for mass evacuation, because I understand that it will lead to panic and it will not only touch the energy. Therefore, I would refrain from such vowels.
Nobody forgot about Energodar and Energodars who are in the occupation and will never forget about the workers of the nuclear power plant. Now the top newwater is what is happening at Europe's largest nuclear power plant. We see that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are already taking some steps, they are felt even in energy and in the settlements of Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions - we also see it. I would like to say that they are real heroes, let them last as they kept before.
And all the collaborators and everyone who cooperate with the occupiers, let them not think that it will get off their hands. Law enforcement agencies work out each case. If they think that no one knows about it, then they are not right. All information, all the facts are collected and no one can avoid responsibility. Where they will flee after the Energodar and Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant are devoted, let them decide for themselves now. Because traitors do not like in any country.
