Combined US and Russian technologies: in Serbia created an anti -tank machine based on Humvee

Although the Serbian weapons were initially planned to install a machine gun or automatic grenade launcher on the universal mounting on the Humvee, specialists of the Serbian Military-Technical Institute equipped the machine with a Russian anti-tank installation "Fagot". The anti-tank managed missile complex "Fagot", was created in the Soviet times-in the 1970s, as a successor in 9K11 "Baby". He has improved range, accuracy and penetrating ability.

The complex works on a wired guidance system, which requires the operator to maintain the direct visibility of the target and manually send the rocket to the defeat. This approach allows you to adjust the course in the middle of the flight and affect moving goals. However, the operator remains unprotected during the flight of the rocket, which can be up to 2. 5 km away.

The rocket is capable of punching up to 400 mm of cathane homogeneous armor, which makes it effective against most major combat tanks. Given that Humvee has relatively small size and good maneuverability, the installation of the "Fagot" complex makes the car ideal for ambush tactics both in urban conditions and in the open area. Thus, as the experience of fighting in Ukraine shows, this decision has a number of tactical advantages in modern war scenarios.

The combat module on the roof of the armored vehicle allows you to fire in the 360-degree zone, which allows to hit targets from different directions without the need for rearrangement of the machine. This is especially useful in dynamic combat conditions when the threat can appear on either side. In addition, the Low weight of Humvee allows you to quickly unfold and quickly remove them from the war zone, providing flexibility with which heavier armored vehicles cannot be compared.
