President: Starting from today, July 28, we will have an important day dedicated to the memory of Russia tortured by Russia
On this day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with a team who works for the release of prisoners and assistance to them, and released from captivity by military and civilians, including "Azov" and defenders of Mariupol, as well as those who survived during the Russian terrorist attack in Olenivka on the night of July 29, 2022.
The meeting was attended by: Secretary of the National Security Service of Ukraine, Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko, SBU Chairman Vasyl Malyuk, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets, Secretary Masalitin, Alexander Verrena prepared, Sergey Volynskyi and Denis Prokopenko, Mykola Gritseniak, Konstantin Mirgorodsky, Artem Diblenko, Border Guards Maxim Shapovalov and Mykola King, Military Doctors Galina Gritseniak and Dmitry Selyutin, Paramedician Yulia.

Since today, July 28, we will have such an important day for the history of struggle for Ukraine. It will be dedicated to absolutely all our soldiers and civilians who were tortured behind bars in Russia, in the camps and in our nanny, in those territories that are still occupied by the enemy, ”Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President called for a meeting with a moment of silence in memory of all tortured Ukrainians. The Head of State thanked for the work of the coordination headquarters on the management of prisoners of war, the negotiation team, partners and anyone who helps to free Ukrainians from the Russian captivity. He expressed his special gratitude to the soldiers who replenish the exchange fund.
Since the beginning of a full -scale invasion, 66 exchanges have occurred, which has succeeded in returning home 5857 people. Another 555 Ukrainians were dismissed. “Unfortunately, not everyone returned home, and we will fight. I want to thank you for your work and for your fight, for each of those who are in captivity. In the same Olenivka today, according to our data, about 80 of our soldiers remains. We will definitely return everyone, ”the President emphasized.
During the meeting, they discussed what efforts were made to release all Ukrainians from the Russian captivity, as well as the investigation of criminal proceedings in Olenivka, communication and work with the families of prisoners, the process of accompanied by Russian camps, repatriation of bodies and measures to speed up.
The released from captivity thanked the whole team of Ukraine, which was involved in exchanges, for being able to return home, and for the work that continues for the liberation of all Ukrainians from Russian captivity. “It is also very grateful that on July 28, at the state level, it became a funeral day of all tortured, killed, killed in captivity. This is important because we actually show the face of the enemy . . . I think it is the right step.
And for our cultural imitation, first of all, in order to remember everyone and everyone, ”Denis Prokopenko said. The released captivity stressed that it is important to improve the medical examination and treatment system, improve the process of preparation of lists for exchange and update the register of detainees of civilian Ukrainians.
