Mobilization in Ukraine: Who will not call the army in 2023

The Verkhovna Rada extended the duration of martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine for another three months - until November 18, 2023. However, the law on general mobilization does not apply to some categories of citizens. According to Ukrainian law, during martial law, all citizens aged 18 to 60 can mobilize if they are capable of carrying out military service. But the law provides categories of non -mobilized citizens or can be deferred.

These categories of citizens are listed in the Law of Ukraine "On Mobilization Training and Mobilization". There are three reasons why citizens are released from mobilization during martial law: some categories of men and women who raise children cannot be mobilized. These include: parents of children with disabilities cannot be mobilized: some categories of relatives of servicemen are exempt from conscription.

These include: in the field of mobilization education, the following categories of citizens are not subject to mobilization: the Law on mobilization defines the categories of civil servants who are not subject to conscription. These include: some delay from mobilization are issued for the period of action. For students, for example, a delay is valid by the end of the school year, and for large parents - before reaching the age of majority.
