The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation stated that the motive of the actions of the invaders - "conflict on household soil". Two Russian soldiers were detained on suspicion of killing a family of nine people in Volnovas of Donetsk region. According to the invaders, "contract servicemen from the Far East" were guilty. This was reported in the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

The investigation said that due to the joint work of the employees of the investigative department in cooperation with the operational units of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, it was possible to identify the persons of two men who were involved in committing this crime. "They are Russian servicemen of the Far East, who are contracting military service," the Russian Federation Investigative Committee emphasized.

They also stated that the bodies were found in a private apartment building with gunshot wounds. The suspects were detained and taken to the investigative department. "Investigative and procedural actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the event, as well as securing the evidence base, are carried out," the investigation was added. In the aggressor country, they called the motive of the suspected "conflict on household soil".

People were shot in beds and in their sleep. In the photos, which were published later, the bodies of people lying in beds are visible because they did not even have time to move when they were killed.
