According to Russian media, in recent days in stores it is almost impossible to buy chicken, despite this, beef and pork are sold enough. Russian residents are dissatisfied with the disappearance of chicken meat from the shelves of large supermarkets. The product has become a shortage of several large cities: in Yekaterinburg, Samara, Chelyabinsk and Ulyanovsk. About it writes The Moscow Times.

Yes, in Yekaterinburg, the Russian complains that there is no meat in both five and chizhik stores, and in the crossroads. According to him, at first the shops said that the product was absent from snowfall and later because of frost. Samara's Russian TV channel also published photos of empty stores. It is said that there are neither chicken thighs nor wings and other chicken meat. Nevertheless, beef and pork in supermarkets is enough.

Residents complain that usually in stores all the goods have been available, but recently they have not imported chicken meat. The same situation is told by the residents of Chelyabinsk. They tell reporters that chicken meat has disappeared from the shelves on January 5. However, allegedly in the Regional Ministry of Agriculture reports that there are no problems with the supply of this product in the region.

Journalists write that according to Rosstat from the middle of last year, chicken has risen significantly in Russia. For example, in June, the cost of this product increased by 6. 8% to 193. 48 rubles/kg. In July, the chicken already cost an average of 196. 93 rubles/kg. The profile ministry explained the price increase in seasonality, but prices increased with the reduction of production of this product.

In particular, in August 2023, the production of chicken meat, compared to the previous year, decreased by 3. 5%. Among other things, last year in Russia recorded five outbreaks of bird flu, which led to a decline in production. Recall that in the Moscow region more than 20 thousand Russians remained without heat supply in severe frost. People also talked about the lack of hot water and electricity. The reason for this was the heating accident on January 4.
