To spread: the Russians are in a hurry to connect the occupied Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant to their power grid and want to do so before the start of the heating season. Such a hurry is due to the fact that the Russian Federation understands that they can be left without electricity in the occupied territories, which will cause collapse. The connection of the Zaporizhzhya NPP to the Russian network will mean disconnecting the station from the Ukrainian energy network.

Petro Andryushchenko, the head of the occupation center, told about the situation in a comment for the Kyiv24 TV channel on September 5. Commenting the situation with heating in the territories of Ukraine occupied by the Russians, Andryushchenko noted that the Russians will only be able to provide it there. It will be better for the territories that have recently found themselves in the hands of the invaders, since there are no serious problems with water supply now, the official emphasized.

Another situation is in the territories that are occupied by the Russians a little longer. If we consider Donetsk in which the water crisis continues, the city may be at all threatened with the absence of heating, Andryushchenko believes. At the same time, threats exist for other territories: since reservoirs are shallow, the CHP stops, the systems of which are cooled through water in storage facilities.

"This applies to Zugres, where the Zugresiv TPP is likely to stop during the month," Andryushchenko said. According to him, the stopping of the TPP can leave the occupied parts of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya without electricity. Andryushchenko said that the Russians have already announced a tender for the purchase of pumping equipment for NPPs. Occupation officials hope that it will help run and restore the generation on all reactors.

After these actions, the Russians will disconnect the Zaporozhye NPP from the Ukrainian power grid and instead connect to their own. According to Andryushchenko, the Russian Federation is already preparing an information attack on this topic, planning to blame Ukraine of "water genocide" in order to justify its actions and "actual abduction" of the ZPP. It is worth noting that the Russians are preparing to be restored to Greenpeace in June.
