The Armed Forces are moving to a new model for providing food for fighters - the Defense Ministry

Periodically, facts about the supply of low -quality products to army. The new system will create additional mechanisms for controlling their quality and will ensure continuity of supply. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has introduced a new model of providing food for the Ukrainian army, developed by the procurement agency "State Telle State Operator" (DOT). This was reported on September 9 by representatives of the defense department at a meeting with potential suppliers and manufacturers.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the pilot project will be launched in several areas of the country since February 2025. In the first stage, the new model will be implemented in Kyiv, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy and Kirovograd regions. During the first year, it will function in parallel with the current supply system.

Deputy Minister of Defense Dmitry Klimenkov stressed that the main purpose of the reform is to improve the quality of the supplied products and to improve the efficiency of the provision process. The new system will create additional mechanisms for quality control of products that are supplied for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as ensure the continuity of supply.

According to the new model, suppliers will receive compensation for the product and payment for related services, such as storage and transportation, on the basis of an agreement on the level of services. An important element of the new system is the fixed marginal cost of production in catalogs.

About 75% of the goods will be purchased directly through open DOT platforms, and the rest of the product categories will be able to buy from the subcontractors independently, which will also be controlled for compliance with standards. DOT will also introduce a blacklist for companies that violate contractual obligations. This will limit the possibility of unscrupulous suppliers to participate in the process of providing food for the army in the future.

"Our main goal is to increase the level of both the quality of products receiving the armed forces and the efficiency of the supply process itself. In order to comply with the transparent rules of the game, all participants of the process are interested in ensuring continuous and quality supply of the Armed Forces," - said the program director in the direction of the direction Nutrition Dot Galina Litosh.
