The law on mobilization establishes the limit age - from 18 to 60 years. However, these "boundaries" are not so clear as they seem. According to the law on mobilization, men aged 18-60 years are now subject to conscription. However, certain categories of citizens may remain in the service for the 65th anniversary. The upper limit of mobilization is 60 years, but in martial law, some men may remain in the service longer, for another five years. The main condition is that these servicemen should be recognized as VLKs suitable for health reasons. According to the law, Ukraine serves: it is stated that during the martial law, military personnel who have unique experience can be delayed in the service and are recognized as suitable for VLK. They can serve more than 5 years of age.

For the most part, these are those who have high professional training and practical experience in the position they occupy. If a man is mobilized and he has already reached the age of 60, he has a voluntary choice: stay in the army for another 5 years or dismiss.
