However, the deputies finalized the proposal of the Minister of Defense. The chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense Andriy Kartpolov informed that the lower limit of conscription age would remain unchanged.

"Because a lot of guys want to go to serve at the age of 18," Kartpolov said.
