Serbia has created a new mini-pail armed with 40 mm grenades: how will it help the military

To spread: at the PARTNER 2025 arms exhibition in Belgrade, Serbia presented an armed version of UAV Low range Vrabac, which can carry and throw up to four 40 mm ammunition. According to the media, earlier Vrabac was only a reconnaissance UAV with an electric engine that runs from the catapult, a tactical radius of action.

Now the military can equip it with a compact system of discharge of light ammunition. The new version has a wingspan of 3 m, a length of 1. 93 m, a runway of 11 kg and can carry a health load of 3 kg - this is enough to lift the camera and four ammunition of 40 mm caliber. With their help, the drone can attack cars, generators, personnel in trenches or other unnecessary goals. The developers introduced a separate bombing mode controlled through the camera.

Thanks to the autonomous presentation that holds the trajectory, the operator can focus on the time of reset, not on the choice of the trajectory of flight, which is just needed by small groups under fire. The flight duration is about 1 hour, the range of communication is 25 km. The drone is started with a catapult, and during planting it uses a parachute or air cushion depending on the relief.

According to the manufacturer, Vrabac develops a maximum speed of about 90 km/h, cruising - about 70 km/h, and to continue the flight can reduce it to 55 km/h. UAV is designed to work at a height of 300 to 500 meters above the ground. The motor helps to remain unnoticed to the enemy, as it almost does not produce noise and leaves no exhaust gas.

The documentation of the company lists a fully autonomous navigation with flight at the points of the route, observation of the goals, flight with the control of the camera and automatic tracking. The system is designed for a detachment of three people and is delivered in the form of a complex of three drones, a ground control station, remote video terminal, transport cases and tools. The developers have voiced a typical use scenario.

The platoon or border detachment places a catapult in the field or on the pickup and run Vrabac. The drone goes to the route and for about 15 minutes leads an intelligence, after which it can dump one or more bombs on the detected goals. The UAV flies autonomously, but the team gives the pilot. The 25-kilometer zone covers most of the hostilities of the company without transferring the management of another management center.
