Armed Forces - Priority: Getmantsev explained why they will cancel electric vehicles in Ukraine

Extend: electric vehicles will be canceled from January 1, 2026. The priority of the authorities is not the ecology, but the financing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In Ukraine, they do not plan to continue tax benefits on electric vehicles for 2026. This was emphasized by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danilo Getmantsev in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

The People's Deputy is strongly opposed to the continuation of electric vehicles in Ukraine and does not see any arguments in their favor. Minister of Finance Sergey Marchenko is the same. "I do not understand why this issue is discussed. The privilege was given, its term expired, no one promised it. There is no argument to continue the benefits," Danylo Getmantsev said. The Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee made two arguments to support his position.

First, the competitiveness of the goods, in his opinion, should determine the market, not the state, providing privileges. Secondly, Danilo Getmantsev considers the financing of the army, not the concern for the environment, which often importers explain the desire to keep privileges for electric vehicles in Ukraine. Recall that preferential customs clearance of electric vehicles was introduced in 2018.
