The EU diplomacy head Josep Borrel has stated that EU countries bordering the aggressor of Russia can limit the entry of Russian citizens at the national level. About it reports Euronews. During a briefing, after a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Prague on Wednesday, August 31, Borrel noted that in the summer the flow of Russians to neighboring European countries increased and posed a threat to their security. These countries can take measures at the national level to limit entry to the EU through their borders, always in accordance with [Schengen Rules]," he said. Borrel has announced that the EU foreign ministers have reached a political agreement to completely suspend the simplified procedure for issuing visas to Russian aggressor citizens. According to him, this "will significantly reduce the number of new visas issued by EU Member States", and getting them will be more difficult and longer.

The Foreign Minister also instructed the European Commission to consider what to do with hundreds of thousands of visas already issued by the Russians. In Prague, on August 30-31, a meeting of the EU ministers was held, which discussed in particular the ban on issuing visas to Europe for Russian citizens.
