It will protect against the security agencies of the Russian Federation: a new solution using AI and drones has been tested
During the tests, the "target" was successfully identified, tracked and captured by radar. Next, the interceptor drone practiced hitting the target along a pre-calculated trajectory using an AI-based software product. Companies from NATO member countries and representatives of the innovative defense sector of Ukraine are currently working on the development, with the support of experts from the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As noted by the Ministry of Defense, the project to counter Russian guided aerial bombs started in March 2025 with the holding of the 15th NATO innovation competition at the JATEC base. As a result, the jury selected three winners among 40 teams: Alta Ares, Tytan Technologies and ATREYD.
"The development went from concept to prototypes of various levels of technological implementation and is designed to protect the Ukrainian military and the civilian population from one of the most destructive threats of modern warfare," the Defense Department emphasized. It will be recalled that the South Korean company Nearthlab presented a new autonomous interceptor drone KAiDEN. Focus also reported that Ukraine and Great Britain will start joint production of Shahed interceptors.
