A new commemorative coin "Year of the Dragon" with Chevron of the Armed Forces - in the NBU told how to buy (photo)

The numismatic novelty from the National Bank will become a symbol of the courage and forces of the Armed Forces, and also a reminder that 2024, which will bring Ukraine closer, is the Year of the Dragon on the Chinese calendar. In Ukraine, a commemorative coin will appear with a reminder of the feat of our defenders and defenders in the style of a 12-year-old Eastern calendar with a symbol next year-a dragon. It is dedicated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This is stated in the National Bank's message. According to the NBU, 2024 is first and foremost a year of continuation of the struggle, heroism and courage of the Armed Forces. Ukrainian soldiers will meet the New Year at the front, defending the country. Therefore, the new commemorative coin "The Year of the Dragon" will also contain chevron of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a symbol of their courage and strength.

The reverse of the coin in the center depicts a stylized symbol of the Eastern calendar in 2024 - the Dragon. The right on the dragon contains chevron of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On the obverse in a circle you can see 12 characters of the Eastern calendar, in the center of the circle - a stylized clock with an arrow indicating a dragon. The design of the coin was created by artist Marina Kutz, sculptor Vladimir Demyanenko.

What is the circulation and face value of the "Year of the Dragon" - 5 hryvnias, a volume of 80 thousand pieces in souvenir packaging. It was put into circulation on November 24, 2023. You can buy a commemorative coin of the Rick Dragon since November 24 at the National Bank's online store. A total of 40,000 coins will be sold through the online store, the first 15,000 coins will be available for purchase on the day of its commissioning, from November 24.
