Putin is not okay. Why economic activity in Russia is slowing down - an interview with the existing head of the Central Bank
There is no reason to talk about the loss of Putin of political legitimacy within the country, according to the famous Russian economist, former deputy head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, participant of the anti -war committee of Russia Sergey Alexashenko.
In an interview with Radio HB, he shared his opinion on whether the current deficit of the Russian Federation could be considered a serious crisis, and warned of the danger of underestimating the economic potential of the aggressor country. Video of the day - according to the historian Kamil Galyev, the only thing that worries the Russians now, what can be done by Russian population is painful - it is a fall in consumption standards.
He even gives the following example: a limited choice of yoghurts on the shelves, say, only pineapple or cherry will remain, will be much stronger than Putin's legitimacy than mass hunger. And the killings of Ukrainians or Russians do not care in the Russian Federation. But if consumption standards do not fall, then the population will conclude that Putin does everything right.
Will you agree with such an assessment? - It seems to me that it is a reasoning from the WishFul Thinking series when people give out what is true. It can be mentioned times of the Soviet Union, when consumption standards since the mid-1970s, which I have already remembered well, and by the mid-1980s, before Gorbachev's restructuring, were slowly declining. It was getting worse, less goods. But this did not cause any political protest, no dissatisfaction. This is the first remark. Second.
I do not know if the historian Galeev is watching what is happening in Russian stores, but I communicate with large trading networks and I can tell you that the average range of food products in Russian networks has decreased by more than 10%. And the range of non -food products - more than 20%. The Russians once did not notice that three types of cherry yogurt remained. So far, this is not very concerned.
Perhaps if there is no cherry yogurt at all, there will be no apple, there will be no kefir, there will be no cheese, then something will change. But it seems to me that Putin will not affect the legitimacy of Putin. It is enough to mention the Second World War, relatively speaking, in 1945, when Hitler's Germany, as they say, survived in recent weeks, all German cities were bombed, but did not arose political protest against Hitler's regime.
Therefore, you should look at the situation more realistic. - We see that Russia is now actively using gas blackmail. Reduced gas supply to the north flow to-1 to 40%. In Tehran, if I am not mistaken, Putin said openly: "Let's start the North Stream-2, or we are the gas that we have booked for you in Germany for you for your internal needs. " We understand the risks for the European economy, they try to solve these problems there.
And what will Russia do with this gas? What does the Russian economy mean if Europe says, "Okay, we will do without you"? - But nothing will mean to the Russian economy. Gazprom will cover the well and produce less gas. Actually, in the second quarter of this year, gas production in Russia fell by 20%, exports to Europe fell by 35%. Well, well, less gas is extracted. Gasmen receive a little lower salaries, perhaps falling employment.
Perhaps if you look at the horizon of 10, 15, 20 years, in Russia there will be enterprises that can consume gas and produce some chemical products, plastics are some new. But this is not a question one year. And if Putin believes that he needs to click his fingers - and tomorrow all the gas that Europe does not consume today, the Russian economy will consume, then it lives in the wrong world. Because there are two things.
Either you leave gas underground, do not produce it, or you extracted it and release it. Because there is no other way to use it. And there are very few gas storage facilities in Russia. You said completely correctly: Putin blackmails Europe and uses all possible arguments that personally seem fun, interesting, logical, convincing. But this does not mean that the European politicians to which it appeals, they treat these arguments in the same way.
