The main theses of the speech were published by the agency "RIA Novosti". Bortnikov claims that NATO is preparing "Ukrainian saboteurs" who seem to commit terrorist acts in Russia. In particular, as a result of such actions, the Russians made an emergency stop of one of four reactors at the Kursk NPP - power unit # 2.
It should be noted that the Kursk NPP is located 60 km from the borders of Ukraine in the city of Kurchatov. The station has a capacity of 4 GW, it was planned to be closed in 2020-23, and instead it will put into operation Kursk NPE-2 for 9 km west of Kurchatov. According to the head of the FSB of the Russian Federation, "Ukrainian terrorists" are jointly prepared by three institutions: EU, NATO, UK intelligence. Training takes place in 17 camps in Europe.
Prepared fighters seem to be thrown into Russia for "attacks and terrorist attacks". Among other things, they have plans to diversions at nuclear power plants. Bortnikov called such actions "nuclear terrorism". At the time of publication of the material, the General Staff of the Armed Forces did not comment on Russia's accusations of Ataki at Kursk NPP. It should be noted that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was captured by the Zaporozhye NPP in the territory of Ukraine in March 2022.
After that, the Russians seized the station staff, placed in the premises warehouses of BC, military equipment and explosives. A year later, in June 2023, the Kakhovsk hydroelectric power station was blown up, which threatened the NPP's work: the emission of radioactive substances could be released due to the cooling rate.
The head of the GUR Ministry of Defense Kirill Budanov stated that Ukrainian special services tried three times to release the Zaporozhye NPP from the invaders - so far it has not been possible. Instead, special operations in Crimea are more successful: it was loud in Sevastopol. Meanwhile, Russian volunteers from the Russian Volunteer Corps and the Legion "Freedom of Russia". The last raid took place at the end of September: the units penetrated several kilometers deep from the Ukrainian border.
On October 5, the governor of Kursk region announced the attack of drones of unknown origin, after which light disappeared in some areas. We remind that on October 11 UAVs threatened the composition of fuel in the Bryansk region. The Russian authorities assure that fuel tanks were empty and they intercepted the UAV. Meanwhile, the governor of Kursk region has a dispute with the local FSB employees of the Russian Federation: they suspect that he "did not share" with them for construction.
