Migrants are not freezing from their will: the Russian Federation is leading a hybrid war against Finland - isw
Representatives of the analytical center, based in Washington, reported that Finland had closed four checkpoints on its southeastern border from the Russian Federation for several days. The Finland Border Guard Service has reported that from September there are about 300 asylum requests: mostly Iraq, Yemen, Somalia and Syria.
In two weeks from November 7 to November 14, 89 crossings of the border by migrants occurred, that is, much more when compared with the period from mid -July to 12 November, when there were more than 91 cases. Dozens of migrants arrived on the closed Finnish CPP Nuyamaaa and Valimima last Saturday and were warming at the fire at a minus temperature. For this reason, official Helsinki speak of the likelihood of closing the entire border from the Russian Federation.
According to Finland Prime Minister Petter Orpo, there are signs that "foreign power or other entities" have played a role in providing assistance to people in the illegal crossing of the border. At the same time, it seems to be unlikely that migrants will continue to stay on the Finnish border in the minus weather conditions "at their own request". Probably, in some way the Russian authorities have to do so, said in ISW.
