Journalists also released a schedule of users' complaints about the messenger, which shows that on August 21, after 2:00 pm, the number of complaints increased sharply. At the same time, the Russians began to complain about WhatsApp. In addition, users from Russia complain about problems with Wikipedia access, Discord and Skype messengers, as well as Steam game platform and some other applications and sites.

According to the subscribers of the Russian edition Baza, the telegrams "at least trying to work", but Wikipedia "simply does not open without VPN". Subsequently, Roskomnadzor reported that crashes in the services occurred through DDOS. "On August 21, from 14:00, the Center for Monitoring and Management of the Communication Network has recorded a number of services in the territory of Russia. The failure is related to the DDOS attack on Russian communication operators," the statement reads.
