The release of the occupied territories of Ukraine depends not on what Russia thinks, but on our military potential - Mikhail Podolyak in an interview with Associated Press

Ukraine is determined to return all temporarily occupied territories in Russia despite the pseudo-referendums and threats of Russian military-political leadership to use nuclear weapons. This was stated by the adviser to the head of the Presidential Office Mikhail Podolyak in an interview with the Associated Press.

According to him, if Russia announces the accession of the occupied territories of Donetsk, Kherson, Lugansk and Zaporizhzhya regions of Ukraine in the coming days, nothing will change on the battlefield. “We will release our territory in military means. And our actions depend not so much on what the Russian Federation thinks or what the Russian Federation wants, but on the military potential that Ukraine has, ”Mikhail Podolyak said.

He emphasized that Ukraine is vital to return all Russia's land. And this is important not only for our country, but also for Ukraine's European neighbors. "Otherwise, Russia feels that it has the right to blackmail the world, raise rates, escalate conflict, and consider itself a winner in a cruel war against Europe," - said the adviser to the head of the Presidential Office. Therefore, he said, in order to ensure stability in Europe, it is necessary to completely liberate the Ukrainian territory.

"Only this is a fuse from the further development of the war," Mikhail Podolyak emphasized. Commenting on the threats of Russian officials to use nuclear weapons, the adviser to the head of the head of state said: "Of course, Ukraine perceives it seriously because we understand which state we are dealing with. " According to Mikhail Podolyak, Russia's threats are concerned not only in Ukraine, since a preventive nuclear strike can create a precedent for other countries of the world.

“If nuclear weapons are used now, in the 21st century, we won't close this box of Pandora again. Because there are many unstable political regimes that take advantage of this situation and begin to speculate on nuclear weapons and try to use it in one form or another, as they will think that it is acceptable, ”said adviser to the Presidential Office.

As a participant in the Ukrainian negotiation group, during the previous rounds of negotiations with Russia, Mikhail Podolyak puts weak hopes on the possibility of meaningful negotiations with the Russian Federation in the near future. He doubts that Moscow is ready to comply with promises honestly, and is convinced that Russian officials want to only win time to regroup and strengthen positions on the battlefield.
