President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the creation of a military Ombudsman's office and made a decision to appoint Olga Reshetilov, the first military Ombudsman (Kobylinsk), who had previously been authorized by the President of Ukraine for the protection of the rights of servicemen and their families. “I thank the parliamentarians for the adoption of my bill on the military Ombudsman. This is about the real protection of the rights of our soldiers.

The law has already been signed and published. Today, I signed the decree to work - a decree to create an office of a military Ombudsman, ”the President said. The head of state also approved the Regulations on the office of the military Ombudsman.

It will be a permanent auxiliary body under the President of Ukraine, which will ensure civil control over the observance of the rights of all forces of defense - the current military, volunteer formations of territorial communities, reservists in exercises, participants of the resistance movement in occupation and law enforcement officers participating in the fighting.
