We created the Foundation to help people affected by the war, but over time it became obvious: it is children who need the most support - Olena Zelenska

The Olena Zelenska Foundation focuses on initiatives that provide children with safety, education, care and opportunity for recovery. This was stated by the First Lady of Ukraine in an interview with the French publication Libération. The meeting took place on Monday, December 1, before the start of the large-scale cultural program "Ukrainian Season" in France.

During four months, Ukrainian cinema, literature, theater, music and other manifestations of culture will be presented in different cities of the country. "The culture of our country is currently fighting for survival. Like all Ukrainians. Our theaters and libraries are destroyed. But the country continues to live, art continues to exist and develop. It is also our form of resistance. We want to talk about it," said the President's wife.

Separately, the first lady spoke about the activities of the Elena Zelenska Foundation. At the center of all projects is the child and his priorities. "I cannot remain indifferent to children, and not only because I am a mother myself. We created the Elena Zelenska Foundation to help people affected by the war, but over time it became clear: children are the ones who need the most support.

That is why we have focused on initiatives that provide them with safety, education, care and opportunity for recovery. For me, this is an investment in the future of Ukraine, and I am grateful to all our partners who help make it a reality," Olena Zelenska emphasized.

In particular, the Foundation implements projects to support large foster families, the "Safe School", the School of Superheroes and the creation of youth spaces "12-21" for psychosocial support of teenagers and young people, three of which will open this month, and two more later. "If you only think about bombs, life stops. But no one in Ukraine can think only about danger. Every morning after night strikes, we get up and go to work.
