Lanet Provider showed how shells and light shutdowns influenced the Internet network

By the end of March, 80% of users will provide uninterrupted power sources. The CEO of Lanet's Internet service provider Marian Ivasyuk showed how the work of a gigabit network was changed against the background of Russian shelling and mass shutdowns of light in Kiev. He posted a schedule on the Facebook page. Given the schedule, in October 2022, before the emergency shutdowns of electricity, less than 30% of Lanet's clients were provided with uninterrupted power supplies (UPS).

In three months, the company has installed hundreds of lithium-iron-phosphate batteries at the communication nodes, which provide from 18 to 30 hours. Currently, about 46% of Lanet clients have been provided with UPS. According to Marian Ivasyuk, the figure will increase to 50%in the next two weeks, and by the end of March it will be more than 80%. From January 25 to March 25, the company promises to install about 2000 batteries for 1-2 access points and the same amount for levels 3 and above.

In early January, Ukrainian providers received batteries from the Ministry of Defense to ensure the Internet, even for shutdown. SBL batteries have been transmitted by the Canadian technological organization Equalitie, Deps and the Content Property and Content Suppliers Association. At the end of December, Ukrtelecom has launched a service that allows you to find out if you can get the Internet in the house in case of light shutdown.
